Planting action “Plant a Tree – Make Your Environment Green” was organized at the territory of Ksani newly built penitentiary complex. Minister of Corrections and Legal Assistance Khatuna Kalmakhelidze together with Minister of Environment Protection and Natural Resources Goga Khachidze planted in Establishment’s courtyard coniferous and deciduous species of saplings.

Representatives of the Ministry of Corrections and Legal Assistance, the Ministry of Justice, Unicef and European Union discussed midterm results of two-year project dedicated to the reforms in juvenile justice system. Meeting was held in the Hotel “Courtyard Marriott”. Project named - “Reformation of Penitentiary and Probation System in Georgia for Juvenile Convicts” is supported by Unicef and European Union.

Minister of Corrections and Legal Assistance Khatuna Kalmakhelidze together with Minister of Refugees and Accommodation Koba Subeliani met with Internally Displaced Persons housed in Koda. Khatuna Kalmakhelidze talked about free Legal Aid provided by the Ministry of Corrections and Legal Assistance.

By the initiative of the Ministry of Corrections and Legal Assistance, representatives of Media and Non-Governmental Organizations visited new building of Ksani Penitentiary Establishment. The new complex with modern standards will be opened in a few days at the territory of № 7 General and Strict Regime Establishment.

Minister of Corrections and Legal Assistance Khatuna Kalmakhelidze met with Racha population. The Minister informed Ambrolauri and Oni citizens about Legal Aid Service.

Minister of Corrections and Legal Assistance Khatuna Kalmakhelidze continues informative meetings with the citizens of regions. At another meeting in Lanchkhuti, the Minister presented to the population free services, provided by the Legal Aid Service of the Ministry.
