Public Reception

Within the framework of the penitentiary system reform, the Ministry of Corrections and Legal Assistance of Georgia (MCLA) arranges public receptions in all penitentiary establishments.

It is the service-oriented reform, as the public consultant, within his competences, will consult the citizens who visit the penitentiary establishments.

The above mentioned is a community-oriented reform as well, which makes possible to remotely consult the person. This will eliminate the travel related discomfort to the interested persons.

Public Receptions are operational at the penitentiary establishments №8 and №18  in Gldani, №15 and  №19 in Ksani.

Simplified procedural issues have been introduced for visitors, to receive comprehensive and customer-oriented service in comfortable environment.

Public reception will offer following services: prior registration for meeting with inmates, registration for arranged meetings, and availability of all necessary information and submission of an application.

Additionally, bank service, free internet connection, children's corner and informational desk are also envisaged.

In addition to on-site service, online and telephone consultation system will be operational to ensure easy access to information for citizens.

In the framework of the MCLA’s 10 priorities for 2012, Public Receptions will be launched gradually in all penitentiary establishments.
