In a purpose to supports convicts' relations with families 2 prisoners use possibility of short-term leaves, which monthly in a regular manner is granted to the convicts from different Penitentiary Establishments.

Minister of Corrections and Legal Assistance Khatuna Kalmakhelidze hosted Ambassador of the United States of America to Georgia John Bass. At the meeting the Minister informed Ambassador about current reforms and future plans of the Penitentiary System. Khatuna Kalmakhelidze expressed gratitude toward Ambassador for cooperation.

After discussing 200 cases of convicts Standing Commission of Conditional Release concluded to appeal for solicitation to the court on 19 cases.
